My knowledge with fixing computers and programming comes with time of learning and experimenting. The technology has changed the way we leave our lives and constantly keeps updating with time.
The technology is constantly changing and it required understanding where everything comes from. My interest in computer started when enrolling in the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico. I was going to continue my electronic training after I graduated from Dra. Conchita Cuevas high school. I got my diploma and certificate in Electronic Vocational.
Before starting University, my mom gave me a Tandy computer that only had MS-DOS operating system that uses the command prompt. I started to learn how to use the computer by reading the manual that came with the computer that showed me DOS commands.
I started to get interested with computer and later my mom started to take classes by mail. She started to give me her homework in order to keep the computer that comes with the course by mail. The homework was Visual Basic 6.0 a programming language, I learned how to program in that program. Before learning Visual Basic 6.0 I was already learning to program in QBasic on the Tandy computer that had 4 or 8 MHZ processor.
Later I decide to change my degree in computer programing and everyone in class came to me for help. I will like to say that my main language is Spanish and my second English. I was born in Hartford, CT in Aug 1973 and went back and forward to Puerto Rico. I leaved with my grandmother before finally staying with my mother in Puerto Rico and stared to change my view with technology.
Late in my life after graduating in the University I Joined the Navy for 14 years opening my mind to other cultures. After the Navy I got my degree in Computer Engineering learning the programming languages. The languages that I learned was C#, Java, JavaScript, .Net, and refreshing my knowledge with Visual Studio. I worked in Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton answering the phones and repairing user’s computers remotely. Apex system is subcontracted with HP. The help Desk in Pendleton haves a contract with HP and Apex system with HP. Worked for 4 months and then got hired with VA Healthcare System in San Diego. I am fulltime and still working in the hospital fixing computers, printers, and other devices related to IT Specialist.
With my free time I still refresh my skill in computer programming and electronic projects. I still like to experiment with hardware and the combination of the software that runs. Computers have electronics digital components that inspire me to keep looking on old CPU and electronic components to give me an idea how computers work. I will continue to enhance my knowledge in new and old technology. Life is short but you can contribute with knowledge
